Ricardo Nazaire

I hope you are inspired by my story.

My name is Ricardo Nazaire and I am 24 years old. I spent my childhood at an orphanage in Carrefour due to lack of means. My mom is alive and she cares about me.

I started college in October 2013 at Providence University through an opportunity that the Bridge Scholarship offered me. They granted me this scholarship to have a better future. I am still benefitting from the scholarship program. Guess what? I am graduating on July 22nd in Human Resource Management! Currently, I am taking the following classes: Work Organization, Finance, Accounting and Recruitment. I really like what I am studying. I am open to learning new things and am on my way to earning a certification in English. I enjoy the recruitment and work organization classes because they are important and make me feel like I am already a Human Resource Manager. After my graduation, I would like to train people who are working for organizations.

My favorite teacher is Darlens Hyppolite. He is a Christian and a lawyer. Usually, before starting to teach, Professor Hyppolite likes to take about 20 minutes to talk about how God is wonderful and about how we should trust Him with our life. It is like a devotion and I understand that God always puts someone into our life to sense His calling.

Jean Piaget stated: “The goal of education is not to increase the amount of knowledge but to create the possibilities for a child to invent and discover, to create men who are capable of doing things" . That's what the Bridge Scholarship is doing by offering this educational opportunity to young Haitians.

Regarding my employment, I will begin working for Restavec Freedom this summer! I’m excited to work with this organization that is striving to eliminate child slavery in Haiti! I love the Bridge Scholarship and I am glad to now have the skills to be successfully employed in Haiti!
